QuestionWhat do I do if my child is going to be away from school?
Answer
Contact the school on 9822-1430 if your child is going to be absent. If a child is absent without advice from a parent/guardian, an SMS will be automatically sent to the parent's mobile phone. You may reply to this to explain your child's absence.
QuestionWhat happens if my child is late to school?
Answer
Students arrving late to school because their bus is late should report to the front office.
If you know your child will be late, please contact the school on 9822-1430. If possible, please send a note to school with your child.
All late students who do not have a not have a note from home or whose parents/guardians have not contacted the school, will have a text message sent to their parent's/guardian's mobile.
QuestionI need to pick my child up early from school. What do I do?
Answer
Students must bring a note from home explaining the reason to the Deputy Principal before school. The office staff will then issue the student with an early leave pass. This pass is kept by your child and is to be shown to the class teacher at the time required to leave class. Parents/Guardians are required to come to the front office to collect their child. If parent/guardian gives permission for their child to walk home, this must be stated in the signed note from parent. If a parent/guardian gives permission for a third party to collect their child from school, this must also be stated in the letter. Question
What if my child does not have his or her correct uniform on today?
Answer
Before school, your child is to see the Deputy Principal with a signed note from parent/guardian explaining the reason. Students arriving at school without a note from parent/guardian will be given a detention on that day. Question
What happens if my child feels sick or is injured at school?
Answer
Your child will need to notify the nearest teacher and your child will be sent to the front office. The school clinic is for emergency situations only. After first aid has been administered, students will return to class. The front office staff will contact parent/guardian should your child need to go home. Question
My child needs to take medication at school. What should I do?
Answer
All students who need to take medicaiton while at school should leave the medication with our School Administation Manager in the front office. Your child will be provided with a form to bring home for paent/guardian signature. Question
My child has forgotten some school equipment and his/her lunch at home. Am I able to come to school and give them to my child?
Answer
All visitors to the school must report to the front office. The front office staff will arrange for the items to be given to your child.
To minimise class disruption, if your child knows that you will be dropping items off at the front office, we will hold them for collection by your child during recess or lunch breaks.

Do you have Lost Property section?
Answer
Yes. All clothing and equipment should be marked to show your child's name. A lost property box can be found in the student foyer at the front office and students are welcome to look for lost uniform items at at any time.
Students are not to bring electronic games, MP3s, IPODS, CDS and players, mobile phones or skateboards to school. These items will be confiscated and parents notified.
QuestionMy child would like to ride his/her bike to school. Do you have anywhere where the bike can be safely left?
Answer
Yes. Students riding bikes to school can leave their bikes locked in the bike racks provided. The bike racks are out of bounds during the school day. Please be reminded that it is compulstory to wear bike helmets. Students must wheel their bikes to the road before crossing. Question
We need to travel during the school term. How do we notify the school?
Answer
If you are going away for 15 school days or more, you will need to colelct and complete an Exemption from School Attendance Form from the front office for completion and return to the office as soon as your holiday dates are known.
If you are going away for less than 15 school days, please supply the school with a note to explain the circumstances and the dates your child will be absent from school.
Your child will also need to speak to his /her Year Adviser and arrange to collect work that may be missed during their leave. Upon return to school, your child should also check with teachers regarding work that may have been missed during their leave.
QuestionWe are moving to a new area and my child will be leaving your school. What information do you need?

Please provide your child with a written note. We require the following information:
- new address (if applicable)
- details of new school
- Return of text books
- Return of bus pass (if applicable)
- return of Library card
- Payment of any outstanding school fees
- return of laptop and charger
- return of any other school equipment
- Date of leaving school

QuestionHow do I apply for a bus pass?
Answer
Bus pass applications may be collected by your child from the front office. Once completed and signed by parent/guardian, please return to the front office for Principal's signature. Please note, students living in Cecil Hills are not entitled to receive a bus pass.
QuestionHow do I advise you of a change of address or add a telephone contact number?
Answer
It is important that we have accurate up to date information on all students, particularly in emergency situations. Please advise the school in writing or via email at: cecilhills-h.school@det.nsw.edu.au of any change in address or contact numbers.
